The books will cover this to an extent. They let you know that mitts are good for newborns so that they don’t scratch up their tiny faces. They give you tips on when and how to trim the tiniest of nails. What they leave out is that no matter how hard you try and how “on it” you think you are those suckers will grow into cutlasses in the blink of an eye, and if you’re lucky it won’t be your eye that gets sliced! Your neck, your collarbone, your face, your ear, whatever skin is available, they’ll get you. At least once, probably 18 times.
You’ll probably bleed.
Just a heads up.
