Top5: Design Inspo (NetflixCA)

I love watching other creative people do their thing and with the new year starting I’m feeling especially open to other artists creativity. Y’all know my Netflix list is always packed, so let me give you my design inspiration choices right now!

Top5: Design Inspo (on NetflixCa right now!)

Abstract: The Art Of Design

TV-14

Each episode covers a different artist and style. If you’re looking to discover new styles or rekindle your love of design this is a great starting place.

Joan Didion :The Center Will Not Hold

TV-14

This one has all the cool writer vibes. You get to learn more about Joan Didion who’s always played it close to the vest, and get a behind the scenes look at the writing world in the 60’s and 70’s.

Tales By Light

TV-14

One of my favourite aspects of photography is that you’re capturing beauty that exists in the world. This show follows the photographers as they highlight the beauty and connection our planet has to offer.

How To Live Mortgage Free with Sarah Beeny

TV-MA

There are quite a few interior design shows and documentaries to choose from but I like this one best because you get to see a variety of ideas and innovations. If you don’t want to see episode after episode of the same designs this is the show for you. It’s not all glossy magazine looks and you get to see a variety of creative living spaces as well.

Clive Davis: The Soundtrack Of Our Lives

TV-MA

Weather you’re a musician or a music lover this documentary is a must-see. The sheer scope of Davis’ career is worth taking a look at, but the diversity of the musicians is noteable as well. He took a lot of chances and they paid off. It’s also a reminder that not everyone in the art world is an artist in the traditional sense. If you love art but you aren’t an artist it doesn’t mean there’s no room for you.

There are, obviously, many many more documentaries and docu-series to choose from on NetflixCA and off. Iris (about Iris Apfel), 20 Feet From Stardom, and Who Is Harry Nilsson (and why is everybody talking’ at him?) are some of my all time favourite artist documentaries not currently on NetflixCa (if you can find them, definitely check them out!)

What are you watching or listening to get inspired in the new year? Tell me your favourites!
